On Thursday, December 25th, 2025, the Mandy Helping Hand Foundation carried out a humanitarian outreach at Ikorodu Roundabout, in Lagos where foodstuffs were distributed to the less privileged and vulnerable members of the community.
During the outreach, the foundation shared sumptuous cooked rice, ensuring that beneficiaries received a nourishing and satisfying meal.
The atmosphere was filled with joy, excitement, and gratitude as many individuals that received the free meal expressed their happiness for the timely support, especially during the Christmas celebration.
Speaking to the media during the distribution of the free food, founder of the Foundation, Mandela Kanu, a Midwifery student at College of Nursing Sciences, Obohia, Abia State said it has been his childhood passion to put smiles on the faces of others, particularly the vulnerable.
He said he was not into philanthropy because he has enough but due to compassion for others.
“For me every life matters. It is still a struggle for me to survive but it is a sacrifice I have vowed to make” he said.
According to him ” It has always been my desire, my passion, my joy to put smiles on the faces of others, especially the needy.
“It has been a childhood dream. I am not giving out of plenty or abundance but God has been faithful, as I am giving out of my little.
“To the glory of God, I have just few individuals that are quite supportive and I pray that God will bring more individuals to assist me in this vision.
“Let me also put it on record that I am encouraged in this endeavor by one of my big uncles Dr Anuma Kalu Ulu, (Doctor for Free) a medical doctor and gynatrician, based in the United States of America (USA).
“He is a man with the heart of gold, his giving spirit is unequalled, unprecedented and massive and he can sacrifice anything within his control to assist others, making them happy “.
The event was well received and also attracted media coverage, which helped to further highlight the foundation’s efforts and commitment to humanitarian service.
The people whose lives were impacted were visibly excited and they openly expressed their satisfaction with the outreach.
Many beneficiaries offered their heartfelt prayers for the Mandy Helping Hand Foundation, acknowledging its motto, “Every Life Matters.”
They described the foundation as a genuine, God-sent organization that has consistently demonstrated compassion and commitment to helping those in need over time.
The community also appealed for continued support and funding for the foundation, emphasizing that sustained assistance would enable the Mandy Helping Hand Foundation to continue its good work—not only during festive periods such as Christmas and Easter, but also on a regular basis to meet the ongoing needs of the people.
The Mandy Helping Hand Foundation, according to Mandela “remains dedicated to uplifting lives, restoring hope, and making a meaningful impact within communities.”
